Why Lease a Ford Bronco

The Ford Bronco is an unusually strong lease candidate, but for reasons different from most leased vehicles. Yes, leasing gives you lower monthly payments than financing a purchase — but with the Bronco, the bigger argument is configuration flexibility. The Bronco lineup spans from the work-ready Base trim to the Raptor, and many buyers aren't sure which trim actually matches how they'll use the truck. A 24- or 36-month lease lets you try a Big Bend or Outer Banks without committing to it long-term. If you discover you needed the Badlands' locking differentials or the Wildtrak's 35-inch tires, your next lease (or buyout-and-trade) gets it right.

The other Bronco-specific lease angle is depreciation. Specialty off-road trims and the Raptor in particular have unusual depreciation curves — leasing offloads that risk to the lender rather than carrying it on a 5–7 year purchase loan. For buyers who want the Bronco experience but aren't sure they want to hold the asset that long, the lease structure makes more financial sense than a finance deal.

Who the Bronco Lease Makes Sense For

First-time Bronco buyers

Not sure if you need Badlands, Wildtrak, or just a Big Bend? Lease for 24–36 months, learn how you actually use it, and refine your next configuration accordingly.

Weekend off-roaders

If your Bronco use is primarily weekends — Anza-Borrego, Ocotillo Wells, Baja runs — a higher-mileage lease with the right trim hits the sweet spot of cost and capability.

Coastal daily drivers

Pacific Beach, La Jolla, and Mission Hills buyers who want a Bronco mainly for lifestyle rather than hardcore use can lease a Big Bend or Outer Banks at lower monthly cost than buying.

Frequent upgraders

If you swap vehicles every 2–3 years, leasing keeps you in current Bronco generations and warranty without trade-in friction.

Raptor-curious buyers

The Bronco Raptor carries unusual depreciation risk. Leasing the Raptor offloads that to the lender — you get the experience without long-term residual risk.

Multi-vehicle households

If the Bronco is the second or third vehicle for trips and weekends, a lower-mileage lease keeps committed cost down.

Bronco Trims Available for Lease

Mossy Ford typically offers Bronco lease programs across the trim range. Availability and lease terms vary by trim:

  • Bronco Base — entry-trim lease. Manual transmission available, the foundational platform.
  • Bronco Big Bend — the volume lease. Best balance of features and monthly payment for most retail buyers. The most-leased Bronco at Mossy Ford.
  • Bronco Black Diamond — adds heavy-duty equipment, skid plates, rock rails. For lease buyers who want capability over interior upgrades.
  • Bronco Outer Banks — the on-road-luxury Bronco lease. Leather, body-color hard top, more refined cabin. Popular with coastal buyers.
  • Bronco Badlands — the off-road-spec lease. Locking diffs, disconnecting sway bar, off-road suspension. The trim our serious off-roaders most often lease.
  • Bronco Wildtrak — Sasquatch Package standard, 35-inch tires, beadlock-capable wheels. Higher lease payment but maximum off-road capability without going Raptor.
  • Bronco Heritage Edition — retro styling on Big Bend or Wildtrak. Distinct lease option for buyers who want the throwback look.
  • Bronco Raptor — the top of the lineup. Highest lease payment, highest capability. Limited availability — check current inventory.

The exact trims, terms, and monthly payments available right now are listed on our current new vehicle specials page. Bronco lease specials change monthly and specific configurations move quickly — call 858-273-7500 to reserve a configuration.

Mileage Allowances and Off-Road Use

One question we get often: does the lease contract restrict off-road use? In short — no, you can take a leased Bronco off-road. But two things matter:

  1. Wear and tear inspection at lease end. Standard lease wear-and-tear guidelines apply to leased Broncos. Significant body damage, undercarriage damage, broken trim, or excessive interior wear will show up on the lease-end inspection. Plan to repair anything cosmetic before turn-in. Mossy Ford's Collision Center handles body and trim work.
  2. Mileage allowance matters more for off-road users. Bronco buyers tend to put more miles on the truck than their initial estimate. Standard mileage tiers — 7,500, 10,500, and 12,000 miles per year — should be selected with weekend trips, Baja runs, and Anza-Borrego weekends factored in. Higher upfront mileage allowance is usually cheaper than per-mile overage charges at lease end.

How Bronco Leasing Works at Mossy Ford

Step 1 — Choose your Bronco

Pick the trim, engine, and color you want. The most common decisions: 2-door vs. 4-door (4-door is more popular by a wide margin), 2.3L EcoBoost vs. 2.7L EcoBoost (the 2.7L is the volume seller for towing and highway driving), and Sasquatch vs. non-Sasquatch (Sasquatch is standard on Wildtrak and Raptor).

Step 2 — Choose your lease terms

Standard Bronco lease terms run 24, 36, or 39 months. Mileage options typically include 7,500, 10,500, and 12,000 miles per year. Longer term and higher mileage equal higher monthly payment.

Step 3 — Apply for credit

Use our online finance application for pre-qualification. We also work with buyers on ITIN financing and commercial financing when applicable.

Step 4 — Sign and drive

Once approved and the Bronco is on the lot, the typical signing and delivery process takes about 90 minutes. Drive your new Bronco home from Pacific Beach the same day.

Bronco Lease FAQ

Can I lease a Ford Bronco at Mossy Ford?

Yes. Mossy Ford offers lease and finance programs on the new Ford Bronco across most trims, including Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Heritage Edition, and the Bronco Raptor. Current lease terms — monthly payment, term length, mileage allowance, and money due at signing — are posted on our new vehicle specials page.

Which Bronco trim is the most affordable to lease?

The Bronco Base and Bronco Big Bend are typically the most affordable to lease, since they have lower MSRPs than the higher trims. The Big Bend is the most commonly leased trim at Mossy Ford because it offers the best balance of standard features and lease cost. Hardcore off-road trims like Wildtrak and Raptor carry higher MSRPs and therefore higher monthly lease payments.

Does the Bronco lease include the Sasquatch Package?

The Sasquatch Package is available on most Bronco trims as an option and is standard on the Wildtrak and Raptor. Lease availability depends on the specific Bronco configuration in stock and the offer terms in effect. Sasquatch-equipped Broncos generally lease at a higher monthly payment than non-Sasquatch trims due to the higher MSRP. Check current Bronco specials or call 858-273-7500 to see Sasquatch-equipped Broncos available for lease.

What mileage allowances are available on Bronco leases?

Standard Bronco lease mileage options at Mossy Ford typically include 7,500, 10,500, and 12,000 miles per year. Off-road and weekend-use buyers — common with Bronco — often opt for higher mileage allowances to cover desert trips and outdoor recreation use. Excess mileage charges apply for miles driven over the contracted allowance.

Can I lease a Bronco Raptor?

Bronco Raptor lease availability varies based on inventory, manufacturer programs, and qualifying credit tier. Because the Raptor is the highest-MSRP Bronco, lease payments are correspondingly higher. Mossy Ford does lease Raptors when they're available — call 858-273-7500 or check our current specials page to see whether a Raptor lease is currently being offered.

What happens at the end of a Bronco lease?

At lease end you can return the Bronco, purchase it at the residual value specified in your contract, or move into a new lease. Off-road use can affect wear-and-tear inspections, so plan for any necessary cosmetic work before lease-end inspection. Mossy Ford handles Bronco lease returns on-site — see our lease return page for the process.
